After a long six years, Adele has finally blessed us with some emotional hard hitting music. The last time that we heard music from this queen was when she released her chart-successful album 25. Songs like “All I Ask”, “Hello”, and “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” were coursing through our veins. We’d all be lying if we didn’t say that this album didn’t have us in a chokehold. But, the good news for all of us Adele stans is that she has finally brought some new music. Her latest song “Easy On Me” is sure to have you feeling very emotional, but excited to hear her lucious voice again.

With her interview with British Vogue, Adele said that her latest song focuses on her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, her childhood, and other personal journeys. The opening lyrics of “There ain’t no gold, in this river. That I’ve been washin’ my hands in forever.” instantly grasp your attention for what is supposed to come next. Adele’s powerful and lower register for the opening lyrics are sure to send chills down your spine. If you’re like me, you definitely felt goosebumps trail every inch of your arm.

The range of emotions only get better when the illuminating songstress belts out the chorus. It feels like the gates of heaven are opening when Adele cries out “Go easy on me, baby. I was still a child, didn’t get the chance to feel the world around me”.  With every ounce of serotonin, you can feel her pain. It sometimes makes you feel that you need to give her a warm hug. Her words are aching for someone to go easy on her because she was still young to understand what was happening around her. There are so many of us who get worried because we haven’t experienced so much of life. We beg people around us to be easy on us because we haven’t found our footing yet.

“Easy On Me” is just the musical start for Adele after being gone for six years. It is a powerful ballad that will have you singing your heart out in the shower. I can tell you that it’s going to be a good and emotional time for us Adele stans. You should definitely give this beautiful song a listen and don’t forget to stream 30 when it comes out November 19th.
