The Texas rapper, singer, songwriter has done it again! Recently releasing his third studio album, Post Malone recently released “Hollywood’s Bleeding”, September 6th with features from a various genre of artists to make yet another great album. Hollywoods Bleeding includes a plethora of artists such as Travis Scott, Future, Halsey, SZA and many more notable artists.

Post initially released four songs before releasing the entire album, “Hollywood’s Bleeding” which includes hit singles such as “Sunflower,” “Wow,” “Circles,” and “Goodbyes.” I think we can all agree all of the singles we’re pretty catchy. The entire album includes a total of 17 songs summing up to about 51 minutes of head-bobbing, feel-good music.

Hollywood’s Bleeding is a project not very different from what we are used to hearing from Post Malone. He has worked with many other rap artists on his past albums such as Beerbongs & Bentleys and Stoney. Artists that appeared on those albums included Swae Lee, Quavo, 21 Savage and much more. Post Malone is consistent in his sound throughout his albums as he keeps a very low profile when it comes to rap. Although he is in the rap industry he is a versatile artist moving his music away from traditional rap by incorporating real instrumentals in the production of his music rather than just catchy beats. This allows him to appeal to a greater audience because the production of his music including the lyrics is more than a catchy beat and words that rhyme.

The production of the album is nothing less than what is expected from Post Malone. In previous albums such as Beerbongs & Bentleys and Stoney or even singles before his debut albums going back to his SoundCloud days, Post Malone has always had a very distinct sound. It’s as if the genres of rock, pop, hip-hop, and rap have come together to create a love child essentially being Post Malone. He has a tendency to incorporate instrumentals such as an acoustic guitar in the background, an electric guitar solo, or even the drums in his beats. Along with live music, Post includes the catchy beats everyone loves. His voice is very complex as he can really go in on a rap while keeping a very chill feeling to it.

Unfortunately, Post has a voice where it is very easy to get lost especially if the melody isn’t very engaging. On tracks such as “Internet,” it is one of those songs where you almost don’t even realize it is playing and it is almost just background noise. The album overall is very versatile.

Overall I believe it is a solid album that has a song for pretty much every different emotion one has. With happy-go-lucky songs such as “Sunflower” and “Wow” to much sappier songs such as “Internet” and “Saint-Tropez” this album has an appeal to your “summer bangers!” playlist while also catering to your “okay let me sit here and cry” playlist.

Although essentially Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding album is not anything new for the artist. Of course, this is not a bad thing it just quite the same sounds like his previous projects. We obviously love these sounds if not they would not hit the charts the way they have. It just would be nice for him to surprise us with something new along the lines of the track “Take What You Want” Featuring Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne.

Generally speaking, I believe this album is a solid 8/10. It is now streaming on Apple Music and Spotify, tell us what you think!
