The nominees this year for Alternative Album of the Year are a fun collection of more established, previous nominees mixed with first-timers. Previous nominee Vampire Weekend and previous winner Nine Inch Nails seem to be the front runners in this category. Hesitation Marks is Nine Inch Nails’s first album since 2008 and shows immense growth among the group. However, it looks like Modern Vampire of The City might have had a stronger presence this year, making it our prediction as this year’s winner. Twice-nominated Neko Case has put together another strong album, but she doesn’t have the momentum of some of her fellow nominees. Newcomers Tame Impala might not have all that they need to come away with a Grammy this year, but they are certainly a group to watch as they continue to grow and mature. In the end, our money is on Modern Vampires of The City, with Vampire Weekend laying out its quintessential style: a unique blend of influences spanning not only a large chunk of history, but a large chunk of the globe as well.

You can tune in Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS to see who comes away with music’s top honors. Bonus: a special performance featuring Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson performing alongside Blake Shelton. With those names thrown in the mix, why wouldn’t you watch?
