As they do every Monday, the Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff has named its players of the week after grading the game film of Alabama’s 49-42 win over Texas A&M. Here is the list from the coaches.

Offense

AJ McCarron: McCarron threw four touchdown passes in the game compared to just nine incompletions (20-29). McCarron’s 334 passing yards were a career-high and his four touchdowns tied his career best. The performance put McCarron in second all-time in career passing yards with 6,400 and earned him SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Cyrus Kouandjio: Kouandjio got as close to a perfect grade as possible, not missing an assignment or allowing a pressure, much less a sack.

Brian Vogler: The Tide’s tight end caught three passes for 24 yards and was rarely off-the-field, also run blocking at the tight end spot.

Defense

C.J. Mosley: Mosley led the team with 12 tackles against the Aggies, also being credited with a quarterback hurry on Johnny Manziel.

Jeoffrey Pagan: Pagan finished second in production points (a coaching staff metric used for defensive players) behind Mosley, coming away with four tackles and a quarterback hurry.

Special Teams

Cade Foster: Foster did not attempt a field goal, but did connect on all seven extra point attempts. Foster also had two touchbacks on eight kickoffs.

Christion Jones: Jones returned one punt for five yards, but had more of an effect on kick return, doing so four times for 83 yards.

Cody Mandell: Mandell punted three times and averaged 53 yards per punt, with one touchback and a long of 60 yards.
