Being a DJ at WVUA-FM is one of the most popular and coveted positions we have at the station. The DJ’s come into the studio once a week and DJ for an hour or two (depending on assignment).
In order to DJ for this upcoming semester, you must go through a tryout. During this tryout, you will simply come in to the station and answer a few questions from the station staff and then “Cold Read” a promo card for us. (In radio terminology, it means read a card in front of us as if you were on air.) These tryouts will be held on August 29th and 30th from 10am til 6pm each day. The tryouts will be held in Reese-Phifer Hall Room 288. This is the same location as our studios and offices. After the tryouts are over, DJ’s will be selected by the staff to invite them to DJ with us for the upcoming semester.
