Here are some of the cool and awesome releases from the last week of January 2026!

I Used To Go To This Bar – Joyce Manor
Genre: Pop Punk, Power Pop
Listen if you like: Blink-182, Tigers Jaw, PUP

While the days of S/T Joyce Manor are long gone, I Used To Go To This Bar is able to find the right mix of the edge in their early discography and the pop-forward sound of the last few records. Overall it’s an enjoyable listen, but not nearly as memorable as it could be. If you enjoy pop-punk and need something new I’d recommend giving it a try, as it’s only 19 minutes long (in true Joyce Manor fashion).

“Streets of Minneapolis” – Bruce Springsteen
Single Song Release

This single was released following Trump’s deployment of ICE across the US, but specifically in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this song, Springsteen sings about the killings of two Americans, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, at the hands of ICE. This true representation of Folk music builds upon Woody Guthrie’s famous Folk song, “This Land is Your Land” but instead of bringing people together with “you” and “me,” Springsteen uses “our” showing that we are the people that make this land, “our land”, so great.

Wound Up – Radium Dolls
Genre: Post-Punk, Garage Rock
Listen if you like: IDLES, Viagra Boys

Radium Dolls are a post-punky rock “four-piece powerhouse” from Brisbane, Australia. Wound UP is the bands second studio album and a great listen, front-to-back, with tracks like “Radio” bringing out a more harsh, post-punk sound that reminds me of IDLES, whereas something like “Moving” reminds me of a more raw The Strokes.

When A Flower Doesn’t Grow – Softcult
Genre: Shoegaze, Dream Pop, Alternative Rock
Listen if you like: Slow Pulp, Wisp

While I’m not a huge fan of shoegaze, this album had pretty good alternative rock moments, like “Pill To Swallow” and “Queen Of Nothing” that remind me a lot of what I expect when I tune in to our station. While I probably won’t go back to When A Flower Doesn’t Grow, it’s definitely worth checking out if you like any of the genres or artists mentioned above.
