Another year at SEC Media Days, another message Alabama head coach Nick Saban sends to the media.
Roughly three hours after the media vote predicted the Crimson Tide would win the SEC Championship in the 2013 season,
“In the last 21 season, the media has correctly picked the winner of the SEC Championship four times,” Saban said. “If I were 4-17, I would be back in West Virginia pumping gas at my daddy’s gas station.
“I don’t see why we need to speculate.”
In that regard, success on the football field kept Saban out of very rural roots just like it Paul “Bear” Bryant, to whom Saban has been compared to often, as both have won multiple national championships as the head man for the Tide.
“I don’t have any reason why people would do that,” Saban said. “He’s the greatest of all-time.”
