TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 2 ranked Alabama gymnastics team returns to the road this week, traveling to Lexington, Ky., to take on the Kentucky Wildcats Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. EST. The meet will be broadcast live on 90.7 following softball’s season opener.

Sophomore Diandra Milliner is coming off her first ever perfect 10 last week.

The Crimson Tide heads into the meet sporting a 6-0 record on the season which includes a 3-0 mark in Southeastern Conference competition while Kentucky is 2-3-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the SEC. The Kentucky meet marks Alabama’s third road competition of the season. Fans can follow all the action live on WVUA 90.7 FM and the meet will be broadcast on a tape delayed basis on the Fox Sports Network.

Both teams come into the weekend after posting their highest scores of the season. Alabama scored a 197.725 to beat then No. 3 Florida while the Wildcats posted matching 195.050 scores in its last two meets, both of which came on the road.

Alabama posted season-high scores on all four events against the Gators on the way to its highest team score since the 2004 SEC Championships. Individually, sophomore Diandra Milliner posted a 10.0 to anchor the UA vault lineup as well as a career-best 9.9 on the balance beam. For her performance, Milliner was named SEC Gymnast of the Week.

“Against Florida, we were on fire,” UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. “Then the fire smoldered up until Wednesday or so and then as we go into the Kentucky meet, we’ve got to ignite it again. I don’t expect them to stay at that level all week, but we have to go back up.”

Senior Ashley Priess, who returned to the all-around for the first time since the 2010 NCAA Championships Semifinals last week against Florida, is the nation’s No. 1 ranked all-arounder. She is also ranked fifth in the uneven bars, eighth on the balance beam and 21st on the vault. The Tide is once again ranked No. 1 nationally on the vault led by No. 2 ranked Geralen Stack-Eaton, who has also scored a 10.0 on the vault this season, Milliner and junior Ashley Sledge.

After its trip to the Bluegrass State, the Tide returns home Friday, Feb. 17 to take on No. 3 Arkansas in Alabama’s eighth annual Power of Pink meet. Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum, and online at RollTide.com.
