With Family Weekend fast approaching, WVUA-FM has put together a list of must-do activities to help you and your loved ones make the most of your time in Tuscaloosa. Whether you’re cheering on the Tide in our game against Vanderbilt, exploring our incredible campus, or grabbing some famous Tuscaloosa BBQ

Tailgate with the Tide:

Family Weekend coincides with Alabama’s game against Vanderbilt, and the best way to get into the Tide spirit is at the Family Weekend Tailgate. Located on the Quad, the tailgate includes food, games, and entertainment in the heart of campus. It’s an excellent way for parents to see the greatness of the Tide, firsthand.

Dive Into Sports and Natural History at Our Museums:

The University of Alabama campus is home to museums that highlight the university’s rich academic values and its monumental sports history. Sports fans won’t want to miss the Paul W. Bryant Museum, which chronicles the life and legacy of the legendary Bear Bryant, along with the evolution of Alabama football. For a different side of history, the Alabama Museum of Natural History offers an engaging look at the past.

Grab a Bite of Famous Tuscaloosa Bar-B-Que:

When it comes to Tuscaloosa eats, Dreamland Bar-B-Que is at the top of most lists. Known across the south for their legendary ribs, white bread, and tangy sauce, check them out and give your parents a real taste of Tuscaloosa. The original location has been serving hungry Bama fans since 1958, and it’s the perfect place to kick off any weekend with the family.

Explore Our Beautiful Campus:

And don’t forget to check out some of the incredible landmarks on our campus. Start at Denny Chimes, located on the Quad, where you can see the handprints and footprints of the former captains of the Bama football team. Walk through the Quad and see our historical Gorgas Library, built in 1939. Then make sure to stop by the President’s Mansion, one of the oldest buildings on campus.

Have fun and Roll Tide!
