First 5 Round Mock Draft

by Cole Thompson

TUSCALOOSA–It’s finally here. The moment fans have been waiting for since the New England Patriots hoisted up the Lombardi trophy at the end of Super Bowl 49. A time where teams where get a second chance of adding a fresh new face to the team. It’s NFL Draft Time.

This Thursday in Chicago, Illinois, 256 young mens lives will be changed for ever. Dreams will be made and chances to make an NFL team will become a reality. On April 30th, the game will be changed forever.

While in the last mock draft, trades were included, this one trades will only be made in the first round. It’s almost impossible to call late round drafts due to players are usually involved. This mock draft will only have trades from the first round but it will be a full seven round mock draft. So with no more stalling, Tampa Bay is now on the clock

Florida State v Florida

.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

While Tampa Bay will look at trading this first pick overall, I doubt they will find a potential trade suitor within the next week. Finding the franchise quarterback is important and the only guy who really fits Lovie Smith’s offense is Jameis Winston. His built is almost similar to Ben Roethlisberger, plus is accuracy is impeccable. He has truly stepped up to be the top quarterback and would be too good to pass up on. Winston may have a high interception rate, but his touchdown/completion rate is just as high as well.

2. TRADE- Cleveland Browns- Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

Trade includes:(2015 12th pick, 2015, 19th pick, QB Johnny Manziel)

This might be a blessing from God for the Titans. With not so many teams wanting to trade up to get Mariota and the Titans not really sold on him, they should get more picks and stick with Zach Mettenberger one more season. Marcus Mariota brings a cannon for an arm and great running ability. He’s almost like Rusell Wilson 2.0 according to some draft experts. With Cleveland getting wide receivers and the fallout of Johnny Manziel, Cleveland will try to find their savior in Marcus Mariota.

3. TRADE: Atlanta Falcons- Vic Beasley, EDGE, Clemson

Trade includes: (8th overall pick, 2015 4th round pick, 2016 4th round pick)

The Atlanta Falcons probably are not satisfied with the selection of extra shirts they have at pick number 8. With the possibility of Vic Beasley being gone Atlanta will try to probably trade up and get him. What Atlanta lots about Beasley is the fact that he can read a quarterbacks eyes in just one step. Beasley is also an experienced tackler and it’s athletic possibly able to play both a five technique and weak side linebacker. With Jacksonville still trying to decide on what to do with the pink Atlanta could make the choice a lot easier. Head coach Dan Quinn used to train a guy named Bruce Irvin, vic Beasley could be Bruce Irvin 2.0

4.Oakland Raiders- Leonard Williams, DT/DE, USC
While receiver is one of the number one needs, last year the Raiders made the right call in drafting the best player on the board in Khali Mack. Mack ended up being the highlight of Oakland’s abysmal season. Leonard Williams is arguably the best player in the draft and could be another star for the Raiders defense. First off, he can play any position on that line, from a 3 technique to an end. Also he has the speed of a defensive end but the body of a tackle. He is one of the best prospect period in several years to come out of the draft and should be a steal whichever teams snags him up.

5. TRADE: New Orleans Saints- Dante Fowler Jr., EDGE, Florida

Trade includes: (2015 13th overall pick, 2015 4th round pick)

New Orleans has picked number 13 as well as pick 31 but due to the fact that there will be no pass rush is left of 13 they will probably trade up to a top five pick. With Beasley off the board the same should take the next best guy left Dante Fowler Jr. He’s an athletic freak who can fly off the line and get pass guards and tackles like wind on the face. In Rob Ryan’s defense, he can play both a five technique and a weak side backer so he’s versatile. Also add in the fact that he can lay huge hits on running backs and this guy is made for defense. The Saints have been missing a pass rusher for several seasons, Fowler could help be the answer.

6. New York Jets- Alvin “Bud” Dupree, EDGE, Kentucky

With the top two quarterbacks off the board of the Jets are in a bit of a predicament. They could trade back and get a running back later in the round, or they could take a pass rusher at pick 6. In Todd Bowles defense, they need a pass rusher to make them a top defense and they should look no further then Bud Dupree. Dupree is another one of those players who is a good end but a great outside linebacker. Off the edge he has a lot of power to match with the speed he brings when pressuring the quarterback. Athletically speaking, he’s probably the second best pass rusher in the class. Dupree may be a little undersize but putting him in the data revamp Jets defense is a very scary thought.

7. Chicago Bears- Kevin White, WR, West Virginia

For the longest time, Danny Shelton seemed to be the perfect fit for Chicago but more and more it seems like Ray McDonald will be given one year before giving someone else a chance. With a huge need for a number one receiver, Kevin White seems like a good fit for Adam Gase’s new offense. Jay Cutler sometimes just lobs ball up in the air and White can be the guy who brings them down more times then not. His biggest strength however is his yards after catch ability. His acceleration after getting the ball put him in the end zone more times then not this season and he could be huge for Chicago. The Bears could grab Amari Cooper here but White resembles Demaryius Thomas and that would be nice for Gase to work with he next several years.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Atlanta)- Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

Jacksonville traded back due to the fact they didn’t know who to take at pick 3. While pass rushers are still on the board, the Jags traded back for a wide receiver. Whoever’s left on the board between DeVante Parker, Kevin White and Amari Cooper, the Jaguars will take at 8. Amari Cooper is a top 10 talent but is also possibly the best wide receiver in the draft. He rarely drops a ball and seems to always get a first down with every ball that comes his way. Marquise Lee, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns are slot and number 2 receivers at best. Cooper has the ability to be a true number 1 receiver for Blake Bortles for many seasons to come.

9. New York Giants- Brandon Scherff, OT/OG, Iowa
There’s a huge need for offensive linemen for the Giants with the aging of Eli Manning. Turning 34 this year is a big deal for Manning, who can’t take many more hits if he wants to succed. Brandon Scherff is the most interesting linemen in this draft due to his versatility. He will end up portably playing guard in the NFL for most of his career but he will be a nice pickup for the Giants at pick 9. His size will develop holes big enough for running backs to slip through but could hold a block long enough for Manning to get a quick pass off to OBJ or Victor Cruz. Linebacker is a need but there isn’t any worth taking this high. Lineman is the next best way to go.

10. St. Louis Rams- Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford
At this point it seems as if Joe Barksdale is going to find another team to play with next season. The Rams could take a guy like DeVante Parker to be their number 1 receiver but the Rams have five receivers on the team already. Adrus Peat would be a nice replacement for Barskdale. For starters, he’s 6’7 and is a great run blocker. His size alone makes him a top tackle in this drag and he can be a day 1 starter. His pass blocking is weak, but besides that he’s the best tackle in the draft. With Nick Foles behind the line, the Rams should consider keeping this quarterback healthy this time unlike Sam Bradford. Collins is arguably the best tackle on the board and St. Louis could need help to replace Jake Long as well as Joe Barksdale.

11. Minnesota Vikings- DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
Minnesota did just trade for Mike Wallace from Miami earlier this year, he still is highly untrustworthy after his attitude down south. Teddy Bridgewater’s favorite target a year ago was DeVante Parker so having the two reunite seems pretty self explanatory here. There is a small margin between Cooper and White with Parker. All three can catch everything thrown to them, they all have great speed and seem to be true number 1 receivers. Corradale Patterson is a number 2 guy and Wallace can’t be trusted. Parker and Bridgewater already have chemistry, so you might as well had them back together.

12. Tennessee Titans (Via Cleveland)  – Danny Shelton, NT, Washington
With Tennesee trading back, they will miss out on a guy like Leonard Williams would could be their big run stopper on defense. While they may miss out on Williams, there are still several players who are good enough to taken the first round. Danny Shelton is made to play a nose tackle and he would be a great replacement for Taylor. His biggest strength is his size and ability to keep leverage off offesnevie lineman. In a division with great running backs, Shelton could stop guys like Arian Foster and Daniel Herron who are great getting passed the front line. Plain and simple, Shelton is a thug and Tennessee could use a thug right now.

13. Washington Redskins (Via New Orleans)- Randy Gregory, EDGE, Nebraska

The Redskins lost Brian Orakpo and will look into adding a big pass rusher. With the slip up of Randy Gregory, he shouldn’t slip much further past 13. At 6’5 with long arms, Gregory is able to fight off blockers and get to the running back before they cut to the outside for a big run. Also he’s explosive, as in he is a hard hitter who can knock the ball out with one hit. Randy Gregory can move to the weak side and Ryan Kerrigan can move to the strong side. While Gregory isn’t Brian Orakpo, he is a nice replacement.

14. Miami Dolphins- Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State
With the top three receivers off the board and the recent signing of Greg Jennings, the Dolphins will probably go to defense rounds 1 and 2. The retirement of Cortland Finnegan and Brett Grimes really being the only corner on the Dolphins puts Miami in a great position to draft a corner here. Marcus Peters is great, in fact the best one in the draft but his off the field issues will keep him out of Miami. Tare Waynes is the next best option and would fit great paired next to Grimes for the future. In coverage, there a few better then Waynes. His ability to just fly to the ball is something a coach would love to have. Getting interceptions is what he’s best at and with an final stretch with Tom Brady, Waynes could add a few more picks to his Hall of Fame career.

15. San Francisco 49er’s- Arik Armstead, DT/DE, Oregon

The 49er’s are in for a very rough year. No matter what position they draft, it’s more then likely they will be drafting in the top 10 next year due to all the key losses of players. The 49er’s should just do the smart thing and draft the best defensive guy on the board. Arik Armstead is a top 10 talent who would be a blessing for the 49er’s. Standing at 6’7 with the explosiveness of a five technique, Armstead is great getting off the line and making big plays. His size will make him hard to block and he can trip up running backs just in time for the linebackers to get them. The 49er’s need all the help they can get and Armstead is a good fresh start.

16. Houston Texans- Dorial Green Beckham, WR, Missouri/Oklahoma
No matter if they go DGB, Jalen Strong or Breshad Perriman, the Texans should seriously try to replace Andre Johnson with this pick. While all three are talented receivers, DGB has the most upside on the field. He’s 6’6 and can run a 4.39 at top speed which is almost unheard of now-a-days. In two years at Missouri he had close to 2000 yards with 17 touchdowns show he can handle the pressure of being a number 1 receiver. Andre Johnson is almost impossible to replace, but a bigger, stronger guy such as DGB could be a nice replacement. His off the field issues are bad, but Bill O’Brian should look at on the field rather then off the field when drafting guys. DGB could be the best receiver in the class if he’s working with a good team.

17. San Diego Charger- Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami (FL)

There have been rumors that the San Diego Chargers will try and trade up for Marcus Mariota but those rumors seem to be dying down. If they decide to keep pick 17 they should look at trying to help out the offensive line. Adding Orlando Franklin will help the Chargers drastically but getting a tackle as well will make that line very strong. Ereck Flowers is big and has the potential to be a left tackle. He can maul down people in the run game but can also play decent in the pass protection. His footwork may need work but Flowers was able to protect Brad Kayya from getting sacked against guys like Vic Beasley and Eli Harold. While he’ll probably start at right tackle, Flowers can move to left tackle when the time is right. The Chargers should look to add more protection to health an aging Phillip Rivers. Flowers might be a great addition to that already powerful line.

18. Kansas City Chiefs- DJ Humphries, OT, Florida

Eric Fisher will never be a left tackle in the NFL as the Chiefs thought he would in 2013. DJ Humphires might be however. What Humpries brings to the table is size. Standing at 6’5 and a little over 300 pounds, he’s the perfect size for a left tackle. Not only that, he’s got a great reach and can tun defensive lineman’s around. Humphries is a mean guy and could bring that element to the Chiefs to protect Alex Smith. Getting a wide receiver in round 2 is key but a team can never have too much protection.

19. Tennessee Titans (Via Cleveland/Buffalo)- TJ Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

Tennessee addressed one line at pick 12, now it’s time to address the address the other one. TJ Clemmings is extremely quick with his feet and he can block any pass rusher who tries to attack Zach Mettenberger. His long arms can hold down blocks long enough for a quaterback to throw or for whoever is running the ball next year. While he needs to work on pass blocking, he could grow into a fine tackle in the NFL with proper coaching. Ken Whisenhunt has a need for a tackle and TJ Clemmings fits the bill.

20. TRADE: Dallas Cowboys- Landon Collins, SS, Alabama

Trade includes: (27th pick, 4th round pick for 20th pick overall)

While the Eagles and Cowboys may be enemies on the field, off the field they may need to work out a deal with each other. With the Steelers and Cowboys are the next teams needing a safety, the Cowboys can’t let the Steelers steal their pick. Collins is the best safety in the draft, on paper and on the field. He’s athletic and can play a center field type safety for the Cowboys. Not only that but he’s NFL ready day 1 and can be a huge playmaker for that defense. The Cowboys have a young but weak defensive backfield and adding Collins makes them a lot better.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Shane Ray, EDGE, Missouri

If Shane Ray would have waited one week to get a citation she would have probably been a top 10 pick. However due to his careless mistakes he shouldn’t fall pass the Bengals at pick 21.  Putting Ray as a weak side linebacker would be extremly scary. From the stand up position, his elite speed (4.5 40 time) would make him a dominat force against tackles coming from the edge. His size may be an issue but teams can work out that. Cincinnati still needs help at pass rush even with the addition of Michael Johnson. Shane Ray can add a lot of pressure to big-time quarterback’s. This seems like a match made in heaven for both sides.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- Marcus Peters, CB, Washington

The Steelers were probably looking to upgrade their pass rush this offseason but with the retirement of Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor, defensive back is the way to go. With Landon Collins off the board, the Steelers should wait to the second or third round to get a safety and look straight cornerback here. Marcus Peters is the best corner in this draft on the field. Off the field not so much. However he does bring sheer athleticism to the table and is an elite cover guy. Having a guy who can cover receivers like AJ Green and Dwayne Bowe twice a year will be important and Peters can take on that pressure. Coach Tomlin could work out the off the field issues so Peters would a steal for the Steelers here.

23. Detroit Lions- Malcolm Brown, DT, Texas
This should be a no-brainer pick for the Lions with the losses of Nick Fairley and N’domukung Suh. CJ Mosley hasn’t signed yet but if he does, maybe the Lions will take a lineman to protect Matthew Stafford. Brown is a giant guy who is known for tearing through the A gap of lines. He’s freakishly fast from the line and can get to the quarterback like a child can eat cake. Getting off blocks is second nature to Brown and he could be a nice replacement for Failey. Brown is no Suh, but he’s not a bad replacement.

24. Arizona Cardinals- Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

Finally the running back drought is over with this guy. The Cardinals got Adre Ellington a few years back but he’s not a true number 1 back. Gordon has extreme speed when he cuts it to the outs.  not only that but he will also be He is a great runner but also is a good yards after catch back as well. Gordon is a nice circle back as in he can cut back in and out as he pleases. The Cardinals are in need of pass rushing help, but with the need of  running back and both still on the board, this pick is too good not to pass up.

25. Carolina Panthers- Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF
The Panthers need to find another weapon for Cam Newton or get him protection. Adding Kelvin Benjamin in the first round last year was a huge pick up for the Panthers and in this draft class they could find another steal. While offensive tackle is a huge need, a like Cedric Ogbuehi will fall to the second round. Breshad Perriman has blazing speed and the ability to make corner backs miss a step to get open. He’s also a great blocker and could giveDeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews enough time to get to the outside. There are things that teams may not like about this kid, but he has the ability to be a number 1 receiver for Cam Newton for years to come.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
The Ravens just signed Jimmy Smith to a long term deal but that doesn’t mean anything really. Jalen Collins is a great power corner who can fight guys off the lines. He also is great with deflections , which seemed to be an issue for every corner last year. He may not be the fastest guy out there but he is strong. Sometimes strong beats sped and for the Ravens, they need more power then anything else.

27. Philadelphia Eagles (Via Dallas)- Nelson Agholor, WR, USC

Now that Philly has had some time to think on who to take, wide receiver is the way to probably go. The Eagles have had a speed threat since DeSean Jackson left in 2013 and should look to replace him now that they lost Jeremy Maclin. Nelson Agholor is a great route runner and has very good hands that make him a first round pick. His biggest trait however is speed, the kid can straight out fly. Agholor compares to Jeremy Maclin already, the Eagles should just take him here and call it a day.

28. Denver Broncos- Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon
With the loss of Orlando Franklin, it seems like offensive line is the way to go. While replacing Julius Thomas is another big replacement, getting help to protect Peyton Manning, who will be 38 this season, is way more important.Jake Fisher is that guy who is quick but also has a great quick reaction to read a defensive change. Fisher is also another big guy, standing 6’6. While he is known for being a “penalty hog”, he’s a guy who can make great blocks and protect Manning in his final season. Fisher can grow under new coach Gary Kubiak into a prime right tackle in the NFL. Kubiak went to the playoffs twice with the Texans with the help of Duane Brown, time for him to find his Duane Brown.

 29. Indianapolis Colts- Eli Harold, EDGE, Virginia

The Colts need help at the pass rush game and will have to look at the closest guy who can be first round talent is Eli Harold. Harold has been under the radar as one of the top pass rushers due to guys like Dante Fowler Jr and Vic Beasley. Make no mistake however, this kid can straight up play. His strength and reach (33′) makes him a monster against offensive linemen and his tackling skills are off the charts. He also is a true outside linebacker who won’t have to learn playing in an up stance. The Colts need depth at the position and with Bjorn Werner not panning out the way he was thought, adding some competition is a smart idea.

30. Green Bay Packers- Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA
Cornerback is a need the Packers should consider, but also is inside linebacker. Actually, the Packers should probably draft two inside linebackers since they have only one real one on the roster. Erik Kendricks is the top inside linebacker in this draft because of his raw speed. He’s a very talented down-hill player and has the intensity to make running backs run away from him. He has put up video game numbers this year in tackles and Green Bay could use someone like that. With a need at the inside, Kendricks is where they should look.

31. New Orleans Saints- Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

The Saints have two options here; they can draft a wide receiver to pair with Brandin Cooks or a corner to pair with Brandon Browner. Either way, one Brandon is going to be very happy with their new partner. With a top receiver still on the board, the Saints will probably go with Jaelen Strong. Strong is a guy who makes big plays after the catch and makes huge leaps for first downs. Not only that, he’s consistent with his playmaking and is a pretty good route runner. There are concerns in his hands maybe needing surgery, but he is first round talent. The Saints may go with speed but having a consistent number 2 receiver is just as if not more important.

32. TRADE: Atlanta Falcons (via New England)- Todd Gurley, RB Georgia
Trade includes: (2015 3rd round pick, 2015 5th round pick, 2016 3rd round pick)

Todd Gurley is a top 10 talent but an ACL injury ruined it for him. He is a combo of both raw speed and power, something you don’t see in running backs now-a-days. He gives linebackers a single shot before he cuts to the outside and s never seen again. He can move throughout crowded lines and find small holes to get to the opening. The Falcons will have to give up several picks to trade up and get Gurley but the Patriots are a good trading partner. Overall, it’s a win-win for both teams and for Gurley.

2nd Round

From here on out it’ll be the pick and a few sentences on each player. Also, there will not be trades made besides the ones from earlier rounds

33. Tennessee Titans- Byron Jones, CB, UConn

Jones is an athletic freak who can be huge when defending guys like Andre Johnson. The Titans are in need of a corner to replace Cortland Finnegan, look no further then Jones.

34. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Duke Johnson, RB, Miami (FL)

Tampa needs to accept the fact that Doug Martin is a bust. Trading him away and getting someone like Duke Johnson is the best thing to do.

35.Oakland Raiders- Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (FL)

Dorsett has blazing speed and the Raiders need a number 1 recover for Derek Carr. Win-Win

36.Jacksonville Jaguars-Cameron Erving, C, Florida St

Erving can play all three postions on the line. Bieng used as a spark plug to protect Blake Bortles is smart.

37. New York Jets- Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State

The Jets need a slot receiver and Smith will be one in the NFL, makes sense for both teams.

38. Washington Redskins- Ronald Darby, CB, Florida St

Chris Culliver is only a 1 year option. Getting a speedster in Darby makes sense.

39. Chicago Bears- Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida St.

Draft a franchise receiver in the first round, get a franchise nose tackle in the second.

40. New York Giants-Shaq Thompson, OLB/S, Washington

Jon Beason is constantly hurt and the Giants need a safety. How bout get a guy with 1st round talent who can play both positions.

41. St. Louis Rams- Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn

The Rams want to add another receiver and love Auburn players. Adding another in Coates would be a win-win for both sides.

42. Atlanta Falcons- Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota

The Falcons gave up some later picks for Todd Gurley and need to make another huge pick. They need a tight end to replace Tony Gonzalez and Maxx Williams should be the guy.

43. Cleveland Browns- Jordan Phillips, NT, Oklahoma

Phil Taylor hasn’t been producing in recent years. Getting a nose tackle to replace him is a smart idea.

44. New Orleans Saints-  AJ Cann, Guard, South Carolina

The Saints traded Ben Grubbs to the Chiefs earlier this year. Cann could be his replacement day 1.

45. Minnesota Vikings- Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forrest

Kevin Johnson might go the first round but if not he’s a steal for the Vikings. Nice pair up with Xaiver Rhodes.

46. San Francisco 49er’s- Denzel Perryman, LB, Miami (FL)

The 49er’s should look at replacing starting linebacker Patrick Willis to pair with Navrro Bowman. Perryman is a mean player who destroys players and could step immediately.

47. Miami Dolphins- Benardrick McKinney, LB, Mississippi St.

Getting a middle linebacker is on the Dolphins radar. McKinney to Miami makes a lot of sense

48. San Diego Chargers- Tevin Coleman, RB, Indiana

Ryan Matthews ditched for Philly earlier this season. Tevin Coleman is a great running back and he could be the replacement that San Diego desperately needs.

49. Kansas City Chiefs-Preston Smith, DE, Mississippi St.

The Chiefs need to add a down lineman. Smith to the Chiefs could be a great pickup and is a win-win.

50. Buffalo Bills- Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE/OLB, UCLA

The Bills defensive line was their saving grace last year, but adding depth is the way to go. Odighizuwa could play a down lineman or an outside linebacker so he’s a very safe versatile pick.

51. Houston Texans- Stephone Anthony, LB, Clemson

Brian Cushing probably won’t return to the team next year and Brooks Reed left for Atlanta. Anthony has all the upside to be a great linebacker in the NFL.

52. Philadelphia Eagles- Eric Rowe, CB/S, Utah

The Eagles would like to add depth to the safety/corner back position. Rowe can play free safety and corner so this makes would be great if Walter Thrumond can’t turn it around.

53. Cincinnati Bengals- Devin Funchess- WR/TE, Michigan

The Bengals lost Jermaine Gresham and need a wide receiver. Funchess can play both and would be a nice add to the receiving corp.

54. Detroit Lions- Carl Davis, DT, Iowa

The Lions did get Haloti Ngata this offseason but his best years are behind him. The Lions should draft a guy to replace Ngata and the combo of Davis and Malcolm Brown is very scary.

55. Arizona Cardinals- Hau’oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington

The Cardinals can adress the pass rushing need here and select a guy who is known for getting to a quarterback.

56. Pittsburgh Steelers- Damarious Randall, FS, Arizona State

Shamarko Thomas will be given one year to prove he can replace Troy Polamalu and Jarvis Jones will get a full year of health before declared a bust. Mike Mitchell isn’t a good free safety but Randall is a first round talent that will fall to Kevin Butler’s defense.

57. Carolina Panthers, Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M

As mentioned earlier, the Panthers will wait to get a 1st round tackle. Ogbuehi shouldn’t fall any further.

58. Baltimore Ravens- Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska

The Ravens have an Alabama guy named Ozzie Newsome as their GM. However, Abdullah is a huge speedster and will beat out TJ Yeldon.

59. Denver Broncos- Mario Edwards Jr., DE, Florida State

DeMarcus Ware is great but he’s also 34. Finding a guy who can play the line with him and later replace him is a smart option.

60. Dallas Cowboys- PJ Williams, CB, Florida State

Morris Claiborne never panned out to be a top corner. PJ Williams is a first round talent who will fall due to his DUI. Still, Collins and Williams is a huge duo in Dallas.

61. Indianapolis Colts-Derron Smith, S, Fresno State

Ever since Antoine Bethea left the Colts, they’ve need a safety. Derron Smith is a day one starter at the position.

62. Green Bay Packers- Quentin Rollins, CB, Miami (Ohio)

The Packers lost Tramon Williams to Cleveland this offseason. Rollins is a big corner who could play either the outside or nickel.

63. Seattle Seahawks- Ali Marpet, C/Gaurd, Hobart

The Seahawks had to give up Max Unger for Jimmy Graham this offseason and James Carpenter left for the Jets. Ali Marpet can play both positions and would be a good replacement.

64. New England Patriots- Xaiver Cooper, DT, Washington State

Vince Wilfolk is gone and the Pats need to address that issue. Cooper is big and could be a nice replacement.

ROUND 3

 65. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Rashad Green, WR, Florida St.

The Bucs should prepare for life after Vincent Jackson. Drafting a guy who Winston is comfortable throwing too, look no further then Green.

66. Tennessee Titans- Laken Tomlinson, Guard, Duke

Building the line is the key for the Titans. Tomlinson is a great guard who could be a huge blocker for the Titans.

67. Jacksonville Jaguars- TJ Yeldon, RB, Alabama

The Jaguars were sold on TJ Yeldon for a long time. He may go in the second but if he doesn’t the Jags are taking him within seconds.

68. Oakland Raiders- Arie Kouandjio, Guard, Alabama

The Raiders should pair a guard with Gabe Jackson and get more protect to Derek Carr. Kouandjio is a good enough player to go in the third round and the next best guard on the board.

69. Washington Redskins-  Ty Sambralio, OT, Colorado State

Ty Sambralio is a big guy who can make huge blocks. The Redskins need to address the needs at right tackle and Symbralio could be the answer.

70. New York Jets- Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor

The Jets aren’t going to get a quarterback in the 2nd round due to the fact they need to upgrade at wide receiver. Bryce Petty is the third overall quarterback and he could possibly be the future of the New York Jets.

71. Chicago Bears- Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon

Roberto Garza is 36 this season. Grasu was able to protect Marcus Mariota week in and week out so he’d be a nice pickup for the future.

72. St. Louis Rams- Alex Carter, CB, Stanford

The Rams will possibly lose Janoris Jenkins after next season. Alex Carter could be a good nickel corner for a year and move to the number two guy if he leaves.

73. New England Patriots (via Atlanta) – Tre McBride, WR, William and Mary

With the Falcons trading up to get Todd Gurley, the Patriots will get a steal pick in Tre McBride here. McBride is huge with solid hands. He would be a huge pickup for the Patriots who are in need of receivers.

74. New York Giants- Danielle Hunter, DE, LSU

The Giants need to upgrade at defensive line after cutting Mathias Kiwanuka. Hunter is a big time player and could be a nice upgrade for the Giants who might lose Jason Pierre Paul next year.

75. New Orleans Saints- Clive Walford, TE, Miami (FL)

With the loss of Jimmy Graham, the Saints need to find another guy to replace him. Clive Walford is no Jimmy Graham, but he can be developed into a good tight end for years to come.

76. Minnesota Vikings- Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise St

Adrian Peterson is going to leave the team after this year for sure. They need a guy who is powerful and can run up the field for touchdowns. That’s all Jay Ajayi did last season so he’s a steal at 76.

77. Cleveland Browns- Trey Flowers, DE, Arkansas

The Browns thought Paul Kruger was going to pain out, he didn’t. Trey Flowers was a huge reason the Razorbacks defense was relevant. The Browns could use a guy like him.

78. New Orleans Saints (Via Miami)- Ifo Ekpre-Omolu, CB, Oregon

The Saints traded away Kenny Stills for this pick and could get Brndon Brower a buddy in the backfield. Ifo Ekpre-Omolu was a first round pick till he tore his ACL. Teams may be cautious but he still is worth the pick in the third round.

79. San Francisco 49er’s- Stephen Nelson, CB, Oregon St

The 49er’s need to address their offense but rebuilding the defense is far too important. Nelson is a great nickel corner who could step in and be huge for the 49er’s defense.

80. Kansas City Chiefs- Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina

Alex Smith got a fancy new toy in Jeremy Maclin this offseason. Adding another guy would be a smart move to make on day 2. Justin Hardy put up excellent numbers and is possibly the best player on the board at this time.

81. Buffalo Bills- Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford

The Bills have got to find a new safety sometime in this draft. Tartt had an excellent season for the Bulldogs and could be a nice later round pickup for the Bills. Great tackler and has potential for huge hits.

82. Houston Texans- Josh Shaw, CB/S, USC

The Texans know that Jonathon Joseph might hit free agency next year and that DJ Swearinger is trade bait. Josh Shaw is fast enough to play corner and big enough to play safety. What not to love?

83. San Diego Chargers- Markus Golden, DE, Missouri

The Chargers will lose Dwight Freeney to age soon and Melvin Ingram isn’t healthy. Markus Golden was a sack machine for Mizzou but was shadowed by Shane Ray. The Chargers could get a huge pass rusher here.

84. Philadelphia Eagles- Donavon Smith, OT, Penn State

The Eagles are getting rid of Evan Mathis sometime before the saxon. Donavan Smith could play guard before moving to tackle in a couple of years. He’s big and strong which makes sense.

85. Cincinnati Bengals- Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma

Andrew Whitworth will be 34 this summer. Not only that but he is the only right tackle on the team. Add Tyrus Thompson is smart just in case of anything.

86. Arizona Cardinals- D’Journ Smith, CB, Florida Atlantic

The Cardinals lost Antonio Cromartie to the Jets this offseason. Adding a corner is the way to go, D’Journ Smith is the best guy on the board at this point.

87. Pittsburgh Steelers- Nate Orchard, OLB, Utah

Nate Orchard said that Joey Porter loved him. While Jarvis Jones isn’t a bust, he isn’t reliable. If Orchard is on the board, the Steelers should add a pass rusher in the third round.

88. Detriot Lions- Rob Havenstien, OT,Wisconsin

Wisconsin is known for building offensive linemen. Adding a right tackle to pair with Riley Reiff and Larry Woford isn’t a bad option in the third round.

89. Carolina Panthers- Tre’ Jackson, Guard, Florida State

Getting protecting for Cam is priority number 1 for the Panthers. Jackson is second round talent and would be a steal in round 3.

90. Baltimore Ravens- Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma

Ricky Wagner may move inside to guard. If so adding some competition like Williams would be a nice pickup  for the Ravens.

91. Dallas Cowboys- Paul Dawson, LB, TCU

Sean Lee is coming off an ACL injury and the Cowboys may not have trust in Rolando McClain. Adding Paul Dawson as the Mike backer makes a lot of sense.

92. Denver Broncos- Jesse James, TE, Penn State

The Broncos lost Julius Thomas to free agency this winter and need a new tight end. Jesse James isn’t a bad pickup for a third round pick.

93. Indianapolis Colts- Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn

The Colts should upgrade at center to protect Andrew Luck. Reese Dismukes is still on the board and could be a nice pick.

94. Green Bay Packers- Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson

BJ Raji signed a one year deal but will possibly leave after this season. Jarrett would be nice to replace him if he walks.

95. Seattle Seahawks- Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State

Chris Matthews had a big game in the Super Bowl, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll return. Lockett could take pressure away from Jimmy Graham who will become Russell Wilson’s favorite target.

96. New England Patriots- Micheal Bennett, DT, Ohio State

The Pats selected Xavier Cooper in the second round, but they could move him to an end make let Bennett play nose tackle. Bennett is huge and could really replace Vince Wilfolk.

97. New England Patriots- Jacoby Glenn, CB, UCF

The Patriots lost both Revis and Browner and can’t except Malcolm Butler to be a big time player. Jacoby Glenn adds more depth to an already weak position.

98.Kansas City Chiefs- Ibrahiem Campbell, S, Northwestern

The Chiefs might have to plan for life without Eric Berry. While he’s recovering from cancer, they need to get a guy who can step in right away.

99. Cincinnati Bengals- Chris Conley, WR, Georgia

The Bengals got Devin Funchess but he could be just a tight end now. Adding a tall guy like Conely gives Andy Dalton a huge target to throw downfield to.
