For most of the first half Alabama and LSU were tightly contested. The Crimson Tide held a 21-18 lead at the 8:42 mark, then proceeded to only score one more basket for the remainder of the half as LSU went on a 17-3 run to end the half.

Alabama shot 37% in the first half compared to the 48.3% that LSU shot in the first half. LSU also made six 3-pointers.

Shavon Coleman was the first half’s top scorer with 9 points, all of those coming from behind the arc. Levi Randolph was the high man for the Crimson Tide in the first half as he goes into halftime with 8 points, six of those coming from the 3-point line.

LSU also out-rebounded Alabama 19-13 in the first half.
