The Tuscaloosa Public Library and Slash Pine Press invite you to join us for the 1st Annual ‘A Place of Civility’ poetry slam. The event will take place on April 11th, 2012 in the Greensboro Room of the Historic Bama Theatre in Downtown Tuscaloosa. This slam welcomes poets from high school level and up; doors open at 6 PM, the competition rounds start at 6:30 PM. Performance spaces will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Slam is designed to inspire communities to contemplate and discuss the importance of community civility and compassion in their daily lives, as well as enhance the quality of life and learning in the community.
