The Department of Theatre and Dance offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in both theatre and dance. With guidance from our professional faculty and the department’s breadth of knowledge, students are well placed to achieve a sustainable future in the entertainment industry and beyond, contributing as skilled artists and global citizens.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Dance program’s greatest strength is the diversity of classes offered: in addition to virtuosic training in ballet, contemporary dance and jazz, students are offered a wide range of professional skills including choreography, dance for the camera, pedagogy, lighting and sound design, and anatomy.
In addition to our academic programs, we have an active production season, producing full-length plays, musicals, and dance concerts. While our productions bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world performance, our department also enriches the cultural landscape of the Tuscaloosa area.
