2014 SEC Championship

 

Coming to you live from the Georgia Dome, WVUA-FM is proud to bring you up to the minute updates as the Alabama Crimson Tide take on the Missouri Tigers for the 2014 SEC Championship.

 

> 3:10- Missouri enters the field from the north end zone and begin to warmup up.

> 3:15- Alabama enters the field from the south end zone and begin to warmup.

> 3:43- Alabama exits the field and heads back to the locker room

>3:44- Missouri exits the field and heads back to the locker room

> 3:46- The Million Dollar band enters the field and plays “Yeah Alabama” as the stand begin to fill up to maximum capacity.

> 3:47- Official kickoff time today: 4:09

> 4:05- Alabama enters the field from the south end zone

> 4:06- Missouri enters the field from the north end zone

> 4:07 Alabama wins the toss and elects to receive. Missouri will kick towards the south end zone

 

FIRST QUARTER

 > Alabama to begin drive from their own 32 yard line

Scoring Drive (10 plays, 68 yards, 3:38) Alabama-7, Missouri- 0

Blake Sims and the Crimson Tide come out strong with first downs by Jalston Fowler and Derrick Henry to put them in Mizzou territory. A first down by Amari Cooper three plays later puts Alabama in the red zone. Three plays later TJ Yeldon finds the end zone on a 2 yard run. Adam Griffith hits the PAT.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 19 yard line

Maty Mauk and the Mizzou offense looks weak on their opening drive. Mauk goes 0-3 in passing including being pressured by Alabama’s front seven twice. The Tigers go three and out and punt to Alabama.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 44 yard line

After the penalty, Alabama starts back at their own 30 yard line. On third down Blake Sims is sacked by Mizzou’s Shane Ray. Alabama goes three and out and JK Scott comes out to punt.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 11 yard line

Mauk and the Tigers show signs of life with an 8 yard reception by Darius White. On third down Mizzou’s Russell Hansbrough is stuffed by a sea of Alabama players short of the first down. The Tigers go three and out again and punt.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 31 yard line 

Alabama once again looks strong to open the drive with a first down run by TJ Yeldon. On third down Blake Sims fumbles trying to get out of the pocket but is recovered by Yeldon. Alabama punts again.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 13 yard line

Maty Mauk is forced to step up on this drive, finding Marcus Murphy on third down for a first down gain. On third down Mauk over throws Russell Hansbrough and ending Mizzou’s chances of putting damage on the Tide’s defense.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 39 yard line

Blake Sims once again leads the Crimson Tide out trying to score once again. On third down Sims finds Amari Cooper for a 12 yard first down. Alabama gets one more pass off to Cooper before the whistle blows ending the first quarter.

 

SECOND QUARTER

> Alabama to begin drive from Missouri’s 38 yard line

Alabama gains a first down with a 6 yard screen to Amari Cooper. On third down TJ Yeldon is stuffed forcing Alabama to try a 43 yard field goal by Adam Griffith. Griffith misses wide left and Mizzou offense enters the field.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 26 yard line

Missouri’s offense once again struggles on third down after driving down the first two play. On third down Marcus Murphy is stuffed again by the Alabama defensive line. The Tigers go three and out once again.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 43 yard line

Scoring Drive (1 play, 58 yards, 10 seconds) Alabama-14, Missouri-0

First play from the line and Blake Sims is back to his former self with a huge 58 yard touchdown pass to DeAndrew White. After further review, the Tigers lose their top defensive play Shane Ray with a targeting penalty. Adam Griffith hits the PAT.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 26 yard line

Scoring Drive ( 9 plays, 58 yards, 3:12) Alabama-14, Missouri-3

Marcus Murphy gets the Tigers a huge 15 yard first down getting them close to Alabama;s side of the field. On third down Maty Mauk finds Jimmie Hunt for a 32 yard gain, putting the Tigers in Alabama’s redone. After two runs by Russell Hansbrough, Mauk throws the ball wide left forcing the Tigers to settle for a 33 yard field goal by Andrew Baggett.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 25 yard line

Scoring Drive ( 14 plays, 75 yards, 5:43) Alabama-21, Missouri-3

Alabama once again starts the drive hot with a first down run by Derrick Henry. On a 3rd and 4, Blake Sims hits DeAndrew White to keep the drive moving once again. Henry pushes the Tide even closer to the end zone with a 13 yard first down leading to another Amari Cooper first down. OJ Howard gets a 15 yard first down leading to another 2 yard touchdown run by TJ Yeldon. Adam Griffith hits the PAT.

 

>Missouri to begin drive from their own 25 yard line

Maty Mauk gets the ball rolling with a 24 yard first down to Darius White. On 3rd and 13 Mauk over throws Jimmie White once again forcing the Tigers to punt.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 9 yard line

Alabama and Derrick Herny decide to run down the clock and head into halftime with the lead.

 

HALFTIME: ALABAMA 21 MISSOURI 3

 

THIRD QUARTER

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 25 yard line

Scoring Drive- (10 plays, 75 yards, 4:00) Alabama-21 Missouri-10

The Tigers barely get the first down after Maty Mauk hits Jimmie Hunt. On third down Mauk throws one up and Hunt once again comes down with it at the 1 yard line. Alabama’s defense stuffs the Tigers forcing them to take a timeout on fourth down. On fourth down Mauk hits Bud Sasser for the 1 yard touchdown. Andrew Baggett hits the PAT

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 20 yard line

On Third dow Blake Sims hits DeAndrew White for a 32 yard gain and puts the Crimson Tide back in Mizzou’s territory. Misouri’s defense gets the best of the Tide though sacking Sims on third forcing a JK Scott punt. Scott muffs the punt and still gets it off for a 33 yard punt.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 20 yard line

Scoring Drive (9 plays, 25 yards, 3:25) Alabama 21, Missouri 13

The Tigers start to show life with an first down pass to Bud Sasser. On third down Maty Mauk once again finds Jimmie Hunt for a 47 yard reception. Alabama’s defense once again stops the Tigers in the red zone forcing the Tigers to settle for an Andrew Baggett 33 yard field goal.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 37 yard line

On third down in an empty back field formation, Blake Sims sneaks up field for the 6 yard first down. Christian Jones gets his first reception for a 15 yard first down and Derrick Henry pushes the Tide into the Tiger’s red zone. Jones finds himself another first down and puts the Crimson Tide at the 1 yard before the end of the third quarter.

 

FOURTH QUARTER  

> Alabama to begin drive from Missouri’s 1 yard line

Scoring Drive (10 plays, 64 yards, 4:34) Alabama 28, Missouri 13

After the false start on Cam Robinson, Christion Jones gets his first touchdown of the season with a 6 yard pass from Blake Sims. Adam Griffith hits the PAT.

 

> Missouri to begin drive from their own 27 yard line

Maty Mauk tries to keep the Tigers within a comeback, hitting Jimmie Hunt for a 12 yard first down pass. On third down once again, Mauk becomes pressured by A’Shawn Robinson and throws the ball away, forcing the Tigers to punt for the first time in the second half.

 

> Alabama to begin drive from their own 10 yard line 

Scoring Drive (8 plays, 90 yards, 4:37) Alabama 35,  Missouri 13 

Alabama is put back in third down formation and Blake Sims hits Amari Cooper for a 17 yard first down. With the late hit call, Alabama comes to mid field after the Cooper catch.  TJ Yeldon pushes the Tide back into Mizzou’s end zone with a 5 yard first down run. Blake Sims finds his way for a first down before Derrick Henry seals the deal with a 26 yard touchdown run. Adam Griffith hits the PAT.
