Live from Bryant-Denny Stadium, WVUA-FM is coming to you with updates all day throughout the game today as The Alabama Crimson Tide take on The Florida Gators.

 

1:30- Enter the stadium, Florida punters, kickers and long snappers enter the field from the south end zone to begin drills.

 

1:40- Alabama kickers, punter and long snappers enter the field from the north end zone and begin to run drills.

 

1:50- Alabama and Florida Quarterbacks, Receivers, and Running Backs enter the field and begin drills.

 

2:00- Alabama enters the field from the north end zone and begin to stretch and run drills

 

2:05- Florida enters the field from the south end zone and begins to stretch and run drills.

 

2:12- Game official time at 2:39 today, weather today- upper 80’s clear skies. Students begin piling into the stadium as Sweet Home Alabama comes on the speakers.

 

2:14- Florida exits the field to the south end zone and head back to the locker room before kickoff.

 

2:16-  Alabama exits the field to the north end zone and head back to the locker room before kickoff.

 

2:21- The Million Dollar Band enters the field as they begin to play “Yeah Alabama”, more students pile into the seats for the game.

 

2:34- Alabama enters the field from the north end zone as the highlight reel plays while fans cheer on their team. get ready fans…IT’S GAMETIME IN TUSCALOOSA!!!

 

FIRST QUARTER

> Alabama wins the toss, will defer to second half. Florida will receive the ball. Alabama will kick towards the north end zone.

 

>Florida will begin the drive from their own 20 yard line

After Jeff Driskel’s quick pass to Demarcus Robinson, Alabama defense forces Driskel to make errors, leading to a 3 and out punt by Kyle Christie.

 

>Alabama will begin the drive from their own 13 yard line 

Scoring Drive- (1 play, 87 yards, :12 seconds)- Alabama 7, Florida 0

On the first play, Blake Sims fakes everyone and goes with the long ball to Kenyan Drake for an 87 yard touchdown pass. Adam Griffith nails the PAT. This pass will go down as the 4th longest touchdown pass in Alabama history.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 23 yard line

After a first down pass from Driskel to tight end Burton, Tony Brown makes his first career tackle for a sack, and Alabama once again forces Florida to punt once again.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 24 yard line

On the first play, Kenyan Drake gains 8 yards but fumbles, recovered by Florida.

 

>Florida to begin drive from Alabama 36 yard line

(Scoring Drive- 3 plays, 31 yards, :43 seconds) Alabama-7 Florida-7

After Drake’s fumble, Jeff Driskel finally finds his rhythm as he hits Daves Showers for a 28 yard touchdown pass. Velez nails the PAT

 

>Alabama to begin the drive from their own  23 yard line

TJ Yeldon enters the game on the third play as Alabama finally finds their stride after a 26 yard gain by Amari Cooper from Blake Sims. As Alabama continues to press. DeAndrew White Fumbles while Keanu Neal scoops and runs it back for a touchdown.

Score- Florida-14, Alabama-7

 

> Alabama will begin drive from their own 20 yard line

Blake Sims continues to put the team on his back after gaining another first down on a quarterback sneak. Sims then finds Cooper for a 37 yard gain. Unfortunately, Florida’s defense holds on  two missed throws by Sims. Griffith comes on for a 45 yard field and misses to the left.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 29 yard line 

After a quick run, Denzel Duvall comes up with the sack forcing another three and out fro Florida.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 21 yard line

Scoring Drive- (1 play, 79 yards, :11 seconds)- Alabama 14, Florida 14

On the first play AGAIN, Blake Sims finds a wide open Amari Cooper for a 79 yard touchdown pass. Adam Griffith hits the PAT

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 36 yard line

After a face mask call on Cyrus Jones, Driskel and the Gators push the drive to two consecutive first downs. But Alabama’s defense lead by Landon Collins is able to keep Florida from enter the end zone again on a Driskel interception by Jabriel Washington.

 

>Alabama to begin drive on their own 15 yard line

After a first down pass to DeAndrew White, Alabama decides to run the clock down heading into the second quarter.

 

SECOND QUARTER

>Alabama to begin drive on their own 41 yard line

After a first down by OJ Howard, Blake Sims finds Amari Cooper once again as Alabama continues to drive down the field. However, Blake Sims fumbles on the play and after a long tussle, Florida comes up with the ball. This is Alabama’s third fumble on the game.

 

>Florida to begin drive from Alabama’s 41 yard line

After Sims fumble, Alabama’s defense once again led by Landon Collins comes out hot and stops Florida once again on a three and out. This is Alabama’s third three and out drive in the first half.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 12 yard line 

Alabama continues to struggles as Sims can’t find Amari Cooper deep, forcing Alabama to punt on a three and out.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 49 yard line.

After a horrible punt, Jeff Driskel manages to run 12 yards for the first down. But sometimes luck is on one teams side as Florida fumbles and is recovered by Reggie Ragland, Alabama’s football once again.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 47 yard line.

Scoring Drive- ( 6 plays, 53 yards, 2:23)- Alabama- 21, Florida-14

Blake Sims and the Crimson Tide look strong on the drive after a first down run by the quarterback. Sims finds Jalston Fowler for a 19 yard  first down gain. After a brilliant run by Derrick Henry in the end zone,  Sims finds Fowler again for a 2 yard touchdown pass. Adam Griffith nails the PAT again.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 18 yard line.

Once again Alabama’s defense comes out with fire in their hearts as they only allow one first down. Jeff Driskel once again can’t seem to hit his targets missing three of four on the drive. Florida once again is forced to punt.

 

>Alabama to begin drive from their own 17 yard line

Blake Sims once again looks for Amari Cooper for the first down once again. After a timeout call, Alabama comes out in a wild cat formation as TJ Yeldon forces his way to a first down. However, Alabama just cant put the pieces together on the drive as JK Scott comes into to punt for the Tide.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 20 yard line

Florida’s offense struggles to preform once again as Alabama forces them on a yet another three and out. But before Florida can punt, the whistle blows and the teams head back into the locker room to re-cooperate for the next half.

 

HALF-TIME- ALABAMA- 21, FLORIDA- 14

 

THIRD QUARTER 

>Alabama to begin drive from the 25 yard line.

Once again, the Sims-Cooper show works after another first down to start the drive. However, Blake Sims’ pass is deflected into the arms of Antonio Morrison. Florida’s first interception of the game

 

>Florida to begin drive at Alabama’s 16 yard line

Scoring Drive- (2 plays, 16 yards, :38 seconds) Alabama-21, Florida-21

After a quick run by  Matt Jones, Jeff Driskel decides to tuck and run for 14 yards and finds his way into the end zone. PAT good. All three scoring drives have gone off of Alabama turnovers.

 

>Alabama to start drive at their own 34 yard line

Scoring Drive- (16 plays, 66 yards, 7:15) Alabama-28, Florida-21

After a wildcat formation first down by TJ Yeldon, Blake Sims finds DeAndrew White for a first down putting them in the red zone. After a screen first down to OJ Howard, Sims finds Amari Cooper for TD, but is called back on offensive pass interference. But on 3 and 23 Derrick Henry runs 23 yards for the first down.  The next play Henry finds the end zone on a 3 yard touchdown run. Griffith hits the PAT again.

 

>Florida to start drive at their own 35 yard line

Alabama’s defense comes out lights out again. On three straight runs by Matt Jones, Trey DePreist makes two great tackles stopping Florida in their tracks once again. Florida forced to punt of fourth three and out.

 

>Alabama to start drive from their own 25 yard line

Scoring Drive- (8 plays, 80 yards, 3:07) Alabama-35, Florida-21

After a great 24 yard first down run by Blake Sims, Sims gets up slow holding his shoulder. Enter Jake Coker and the Derrick Henry show begin. After two consecutive runs for first downs by Henry, TJ Yeldon shows what he can do gaining 10 yards and another Alabama first down.  In the red zone, Coker find Amari Cooper in the end zone for another Alabama touchdown. Griffith hits the PAT.

 

>Florida to begin drive from their own 16 yard line

Jeff Driskel manages to get a 12 yard first down pass off to Quinton Dunbar before time expires, ending the third quarter.

 

FORUTH QUARTER

>Florida to begin drive from their own 28 yard line

Florida was blessed on the first play with a 15 yard pass interference call on Geno Smith. Driskel still has issues finding his receivers leading to a sack by Jarren Reed and a one handed interception by Landon Collins. Collins returns the interception 12 yards.

 

>Alabama to start drive from their own 40 yard line

Scoring Drive- ( 8 plays, 60 yards, 3:42) Alabama-42 Florida-21

After a brief stint by Jake Coker, Blake Sims enter the game once again to lead the tide on the drive. After a 37 yard screen to TJ Yeldon, both Yeldon and Henry find a way to push past Florida’s front 7 for a first down. In the Red Zone, Henry jukes and spins out of tackles to set up for a 6 yard touchdown to Amari Cooper. Griffith hits the PAT

 

>Florida to start drive from their own 20 yard line

Jeff Driskel once again decides to run up the gut for an 18 yard gain. Driskel finally hits Demarcus Robinson for another first down but still struggles to find his receivers as he misses three straight passes forcing Florida to go for it on 4th and long. Alabama once again holds and will start with great field position.

 

>Alabama to start drive from the 50 yard line

Blake Sims day would come to an end as Alabama put in Jake Coker to finish the game. While Coker and Derrick Henry were able to get into the red zone, penalties were the death of Alabama on this drive. On fourth down, Coach Lane Kiffin decided to go for it rather then tack on 3 points and failed. Florida would start close to their own end zone.

Florida once again had no anwers for Alabama’s defense as Jeff Driskel couldn’t get any passes off. Alabama would hold them to only five plays before punting once again.
