On a cloudy and mild Tuesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide took to the outdoor practice fields to continue preparing for the Tennessee Volunteers. Here are some observations from the brief practice viewing period, with video coming soon.

– Cornerback Bradley Sylve seems to be making improvements, as he was off the exercise bike and moving to light drills with a strength and conditioning coach, working on putting weight on his ankle. High ankle sprains have a nasty tendency to regress at times with no warning, so his status is difficult to assume at the moment.

– While we’re on the topic of injuries, running back Altee Tenpenny (turf toe) was still on the exercise bike and out of practice. We’ll get an update from Nick Saban on his status in his Wednesday press conference.

– As expected, Landon Collins and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix are the starting safeties. With Sylve out with his injury, Eddie Jackson is taking the reps as the No. 2 cornerback with Deion Belue.
