Alabama head basketball coach Anthony Grant announced earlier today to RollTide.com that junior guard Levi Randolph will miss several weeks with a knee injury.

The announcement did not specify the exact injury, or give a timetable for his return. Alabama’s season starts in three weeks with a home exhibition game against West Georgia. The regular season starts on Nov. 8 with a neutral site game against Oklahoma in Dallas.

Randolph, who has started 67 of his 69 games as a member of the Crimson Tide, averaged just over eight points per game last season, also contributing 4.2 rebounds per game in 30.1 minutes per game.

Without Randolph, Alabama will have to lean heavily on Trevor Releford and Retin Obasohan, and incorporate Rodney Cooper and Algie Key into the rotation.
