My Thoughts

– The quarterback battle in the SEC took another turn for even more interesting, as the media and coaches both put McCarron, Murray and Manziel in different orders on their ballots. The top three quarterbacks in the conference are going to be battling all year long to separate themselves from each other and could all very well be drafted in the same round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

– I think this is all that needs to be said about that.

– Speaking of versatile players, the third-team defense did not have a typo: Ronald Powell was voted as both a defensive lineman and linebacker. The Gators will be able to wreak havoc with Powell if they can utilize his talents correctly. Think Alabama’s Xzavier Dickson.

– The night-and-day difference in Athens is apparent in this voting, as the Bulldogs have three players on the First-Team Offense but not a single one on the First-Team Defense. All four of Georgia’s draft pick in the first three rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft played defense.

– Alabama leads all programs with five selections on the First Team (Yeldon, Cooper, C. Kouandjio, Mosley and Clinton-Dix).
