Fleetwood Mac plans to release an EP featuring new songs within the next few days, according to Lindsey Buckingham’s onstage announcement at the band’s Philadelphia show last Saturday.

“It’s the best stuff we’ve done in a long time,” the lead singer and guitarist said.

After starting their world tour last Thursday in Columbus, Ohio with a set list comprising the band’s large catalog of famous hits, the Saturday show took a surprising turn when Buckingham performed a new song titled “Sad Angel.”

“We actually have two new Fleetwood Mac songs that I cut with Lindsey two weeks ago we might play,” Stevie Nicks said in a December Rolling Stone interview.

It’s been about a decade since the band’s last studio album release, but for the album Rumours  35th anniversary, the band reissued the praised 1977 album  in January with remastered songs, bonus tracks and unreleased live recordings.

Fleetwood Mac will headline Jazz Fest in New Orleans later this month and will play in Atlanta on June 10.
