Tuscaloosa, AL – (March 28, 2011) – The Letter 3 would like to announce the first annual Myfest, a collaboration of five of Tuscaloosa’s local bands showcasing their original music.

The first annual Myfest will be held at Rounders on The Strip, Thursday, April 14 from 6:00pm – 2:00am. This year’s lineup is: Southern Distortion Eric the Red and Dudley Do-right’s Mounted Brigade Blackwater Stone The Letter 3 Deep South Dread.

This event is being held to showcase original music from local bands and invigorate the local music scene.

The idea for Myfest came about when Jordan Abbett, bassist for The Letter 3 became frustrated trying to book shows for The Letter 3. Bars here are not willing book bands that play mostly original music and, as a result, the local music scene is lacking. It is hard for new and upcoming bands to grab a foot hold, grow a fan base, and promote their original music.

Myfest will feature five local bands playing mostly original music. The goal is for each band’s original music to reach new fans.

Myfest is open to everyone 19 and up. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance at the door. For tickets or any additional information please contact Jordan Abbett at 205-541-8240 or visit tl3music.com.
The Letter 3 is a Tuscaloosa based funk/rock band that focuses on writing original music and delivering amazing shows. Featuring Jordan Abbett on bass, David Moore on lead guitar, Jonny Milling on rhythm guitar, Ryan Mayfield on drums and Josh Mickler on vocals. They have been playing together since 2009.
